Super Bowl BBQ Tips
It's almost time for the biggest, most exciting sports event of the year. That's right, the Super Bowl is finally here! As the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos are gearing up for the championship game, BBQ afficionados all over the country are planning menus, making plans with friends and family, and stocking refrigerators in anticipation. We put together a few handy tips that will help make your BBQ truly super.
#1 - USE PROPANE. Propane grills offer a huge variety of benefits over charcoal grills. They're cleaner, more efficient, and heat quicker. More importantly, a propane grill offers vastly superior temperature control. That means that every burger, dog, steak, or chicken breast you pull off the grill is cooked perfectly. No more uneven cooking, no more charred edges on your steaks, no more charcoal dust to clean up. What could be better?
#2 - Make sure your tank is full. There's nothing worse than running out of fuel mid-cookout. Luckily, Griffis Gas makes it easy and affordable to fill your propane tank. If you're not sure whether your tank has enough fuel, there's an easy way to check at home. Just sit your tank on an ordinary bathroom scale. An empty propane tank will weigh from 17-20 pounds. Any additional weight is propane. Each pound of propane gives you about 30 minutes of solid cook time. Just weigh your tank, do the math, and give us a call if you need a refill. We're here to help.
#3 - Buy Local! Jacksonville is home to dozens of farms and boasts some of the best local seafood in the country. Why not pick up your ground beef from a local farm and grab some fish to grill from any of the dozens of local seafood markets? You'll be supporting local business and getting flavor from your food that ordinary supermarket meat can't match.
#4 - Enjoy the game! After all, that's what this is all about, right? And when you're done cooking and don't have to clean up, you'll be sure not to miss a single snap.
