Gas Incentives in Florida

There are many great reasons to use propane in your home or business. In addition to the cost savings and better performance propane provides, there are many financial incentives offered to propane customers. For customers in Florida, there are several great incentive programs being offered to propane customers by local, state and federal agencies. We’ve outlined a few of these to help you see what is available to you.

Propane Exceptional Product Program

The Propane Exceptional Product Program is offered by the Propane Education & Research Council and was designed to encourage home and business owners to switch to propane-fueled products. This program offers a monetary incentive to consumers who apply and are selected to share their experiences after purchasing a qualifying propane product. The products included in this program are:

  • Generac EcoGen Premium Generator Set – $1,000 incentive
  • Polar Power 8220D-950P – $1,000 incentive

State Programs

There are several rebate and incentive programs offered to propane customers by the State of Florida. These programs provide rebates and discounts on propane appliances or assistance with propane costs.

Programs Offered by Manufacturers and Stores

Makers of propane furnaces, heat pumps, home appliances and other devices offer various rebate and incentive programs. In addition, many dealers of these products offer rebates or incentives for purchasing products that are fueled by propane. For the most accurate information, you can check the website of the individual manufacturer or dealer to find out the details, including amounts, requirements and how to apply. These incentives can save you anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. The amount depends upon the product you purchase, and is usually well worth your time and effort. Ensure you keep all of your receipts and any other pertinent information, as copies of these documents are usually needed to participate in these programs.

Safety Tips

Tip 5: Don't run out of gas!

Serious safety hazards, such as fire or explosion can result. If your storage tank gets empty or depleted, air and moisture can enter. This can cause a build-up of rust inside the tank. Rust can decrease the concentration of the odor of propane, making it harder to smell. If your propane tank runs out of gas, any pilot lights on your appliances will go out. This can be extremely dangerous if not handled properly.
